Dr. Jack Stern is the proud founder of Brain & Spine Surgeons of New York and a board-certified Neurosurgeon who received both his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
He and Dr. Seth Neubardt were the first to promote the concept of spinal surgery being performed by an orthopedic/neurosurgical team. He was a pioneer in the use of intraoperative neuromonitoring to promote and enhance patient safety during neurosurgery. Dr. Stern now confines his practice to spinal surgery including spinal tumors, spinal reconstructions, degenerative disc disease, and herniated discs. He uses conventional as well as minimally invasive approaches.
Dr. Stern is an associate professor at New York Medical College. He has previously been on the faculties of Tufts University School of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, and the Cornell School of Medicine.
In 2015, his book, Ending Back Pain, was published by Penguin Press and remains an Amazon best-seller. Dr. Stern is a frequent lecturer both locally and internationally.
