Vocal Cord Stripping

WHAT IS IT AND WHY IS IT PERFORMED?

vocal cord stripping

Vocal cord stripping is a surgical procedure in which the outer layers of vocal cord tissue are removed using a long surgical instrument.

Vocal cord stripping is often used to take a biopsy sample, or to treat some early-stage cancers of the larynx and vocal cords. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and rarely impacts speech.
